Our approach to sustainability is central to how we are seeking to create long term value, which, as a relatively small team, means working in partnership with our key suppliers.
One example that we are pleased to highlight, has been delivered by our friends at Skanska, the main contractor for our Ropemaker development.
Skanska, working in partnership with Islington, and their supply chain employed 29 local candidates, of which 19 were placed as apprentices, or trainees supported to complete NVQs. This is equivalent to just over 18 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) local roles, 430 weeks of apprenticeships and 278 weeks of NVQs.
The project is successfully engaging with traditionally hard to reach and underrepresented groups. The on-site Skanska team volunteered over 130 hours with local schools, colleges and job seekers, engaging over 230 local people, and hosting 3 site visits.
In overall terms, the collaboration with Islington Employment and Skills team has led to the delivery of over £1,081,360 of Social Value during the duration of the project.
